Crime Prevention Training

The Douglasville Police Training Department offers a public handgun clinic on the first Thursday evening of every month from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in the Police Department Community Room at 2083 Fairburn Road, just south of I-20.

Come experience hands-on instruction from these seasoned law enforcement professionals, as they show you to handle your firearm in a safe and lawful manner. There is no cost for the class, but advance registration is required.

Active Shooter Training

By request the Douglasville Police Training Department will present their "Active Shooter" program to any organization interested in knowing how to react in an active shooter situation. This program is a must for all citizens and is based on the Department of Homeland Security "Run-Hide-Fight" principles. If you are interested in hosting or attending this class, please contact the Training Division's Lt. Rape Awareness and Self-Defense Issues

The Training Division periodically offers a free rape awareness and self-defense seminar to civic groups, homeowners associations, etc. The program has also been conducted in conjunction with the Douglas County District Attorney''s Office under their Victim/Witness Assistance Program.
