Mayors' Monarch Pledge Butterfly Garden is Underway!

Butterfly garden 2

The National Wildlife Federation and local municipalities across the country have created the Mayors' Monarch Pledge to help stem the serious decline of the iconic monarch butterfly population. Butterflies are vital "pollinators" in our ecosystem.

Keep Douglasville Beautiful is spearheading this effort for Mayor Robinson, and work has begun on the garden at Worthan Park.

Saturday, April 22nd was the first workday, and 38 volunteers showed up to help.

30 of those volunteers were from Comcast, who also donated $1200 to buy the plants for the garden through their "Comcast Cares" program.
