  2. 9TH Annual Penny McHrenry Hydrangea Festival

    June 4 - June 5 @ Various Locations in Douglasville, and Douglas County

    The Douglas County Tourism and History Commission proudly announces that the 9th annual Penny McHenry Hydrangea Festival will be held Saturday - Sunday, June 4th - 5th, 2016, at locations throughout Douglasville / Douglas County, Georgia. The theme is of the 2016 Festival is “America, the Beautiful!” and the theme flower is the Hydrangea Macrophylla Blue Wave, which is a lacecap and the first blue Hydrangea chosen in the Festival’s history. All Festival’s activities will use the Americana theme, including the Standard Flower Show, the Miniature Gardens, Master Gardeners’ Vegetable Garden Scarecrows, and the Courthouse Gallery Art Exhibit. Many new components are being added to the schedule including “Quilts of Valor” and “Quilts of Red, White and Blue” Exhibit and Rose Garden plus the official opening of the Butterfly Trail of Douglas County, which is registered with the Rosalyn Carter Butterfly Trail.
